Who is behind Strike a Portrait?
I am a Bulgarian born visual artist, who has started my artistic career as a live event portrait artist in 2019 and then transitioned my skills and ideas into a more conceptual art making including painting, drawing and sculpture. After graduating Fine Arts at Goldsmiths University of London in 2024, I ventured into bringing my love for portraiture, contemporary art and live human interaction together as a way to share, connect and celebrate life and creativity. That’s how Strike a Portrait was created - as a Live Event Art Experience that not only provides guests with an instant artwork as a souvenir from the event, but it brings them closer to the world of art making.
What I do?
I create speed portraits of the guests while interacting with them at the event, which is the perfect ice breaker for any occasion! The portraits are professionally executed drawings, done with pencil/charcoal/graphite, or digitally, focusing on the individuality of the person and their unique character. They can be black & white, as well as with colour, highlighting guest’s best features with expressive and elegant brush strokes. What is important for me is making visual art accessible to all by providing everyone with a taste of ownership of a piece of art that is timeless and valuable.
In addition to the guests portraits I also do wedding paintings using acrylic paint on stretched cotton canvas.
How the experience is delivered?
Strike a Portrait provides the ultimate personalised art experience - guests are invited to sit for their portrait, getting to know the artist and vice versa, which makes the moment even more special and unforgettable. However, depending on the character of the event, the drawings could also be done from a photograph of the guests, taken by the artist in the beginning of the event and ready for collection before they leave the venue. Whatever your choice, I am happy to tailor my approach to suit the needs of every client, always striving for the happiest possible crowd!

One of the best advantages of booking Strike a Portrait is the mobility of the artist. With my mobile professional art kit I can literally work from anywhere in the world! Whatever and wherever your event venue is - I come, set up and draw, as easy as it sounds! I am based in London, UK, but travel within the country and internationally.
